The only museum outside Perth City in Perth and Kinross.
Open seasonally from May to September, the area’s rich farming heritage is the inspiration for the displays in this lovely, small museum.
You can enjoy a wide collection of objects, pictures and displays on the Vale of Strathmore’s agrarian history together with artefacts that would have been used locally on a daily basis from the dairy, kitchen, parlour, laundry and schoolroom. There are written and photographic records showing life as it was in Alyth and the surrounding areas, with many from the famous Laing Photographic Collection, held by Perth Museum.
One of the main attractions is the Blairgowrie Drunk’s Cart, which was used in the nineteenth century to carry drunks back to their home.
