Come and join the Cateran Ecomuseum team for a ‘hands on’ 2.5 hour session all about the past and future of the Hearth, the place in our home which traditionally housed the source of energy – the fire – that kept us warm and cooked our food.
You’ll be able to have a go at learning how to build and light a fire yourself from scratch and build a shelter hear what the Hearth meant to our ancestors beyond giving us light and warmth and explore what kinds of energy we’ll be using to create the Hearth in our homes in the future.
And along the way you’ll get to hear the story of Robert The Brownie!
