Cateran Ecomuseum

The DexShell Cateran Dirt Dash bikepacking event takes you in two days through the stunning surroundings of the Cairngorms National Park to enjoy the dramatic scenery of the Cateran Ecomuseum.

It’s the perfect way to experience the rugged beauty of Scotland’s only museum without walls. This event has a shorter route than the Dashes in Yorkshire and Dunoon; it’s the perfect introduction to bikepacking in Scotland.

Your entry fee includes: Route as GPX for navigation, electronic rider briefing, campsite, evening meal, breakfast, snacks and broom wagon.

With the generous support of the Drumderg Community Fund from SSE Renewables, we are offering 20 subsidised places for the 2026 Cateran Dirt Dash.

These places are available at a reduced rate of £50 to individuals in need within the local community and underrepresented groups.

Priority will be given to those in the following postcodes: PH11 8 & PH10 7. However, we will also consider applications from those outside these postcodes who face barriers to participation in cycling due to social, economic, or systemic factors—such as women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ cyclists; disabled cyclists; people of color and ethnic minorities; low-income cyclists; older adults; refugees and asylum seekers; and carers.
