Route Description
Starting at the Ember bus stop at Dalrulzion, the route follows the A93 south for a short distance before turning onto the B950 towards Wester Bleaton, passing a cake shed. From here, a track leads to Ashintully Castle. Keeping right, the route continues on estate tracks to a farm, before passing through a gate and crossing a field to avoid the farmyard.
Beyond, a double track climbs steadily across open moorland on the slopes of Lham Dearg, before steepening towards the summit of Meall Odhar, the highest point of the route. From here, a long descent leads back down towards the A93.
After a short stretch on the main road, the route turns off towards Broughdearg, crossing the Shee Water and rejoining the Cateran Trail. Follow the trail past Dalnaglar Castle to meet the B951, with the site of Pitcarmick House a worthwhile short detour.
The route then continues on a quiet road alongside the Black Water to Blacklunans, before finishing with a short section on the A93 back to Dalrulzion.
