Are you interested in social history and injustice? Have you an as yet undiscovered – or indeed discovered – talent for drama? Then we want to hear from you!
Monumental Meigle is a free walking play that will use local stories, anecdotes and myths about Meigle and the surrounding area, gathered from the community and other sources, and re-told and shaped for the modern-day by writer, director and theatre maker Phil Baarda.
The play, which is part of the Cateran Ecomuseum‘s innovative Museum of Rapid Transition programme, will see professional actors Innes Anderson and Benjamin L Wray perform alongside local actors and musicians.
Join us for these rehearsal days where you will be able to hone your craft with Innes and Benjamin before performing a role in the walking play.
The performances, which take place on Saturday, August 12th, and Sunday, August 13th, both at 2pm, will be script-in-hand so there’s no need to learn too many lines!
The performance will be about one and half to two hours long, including walking between sites. In order to take part, our cast must be able to attend both rehearsal days and both performances. In the event of wet weather, the play will be performed in the Kinloch Memorial Hall.
