In 2017, as part of the Cateran’s Common Wealth initiative, members of the Alyth community were interviewed in order to compile stories for The Story Box project, a new community-led oral history archive.
These stories were initially able to be listened to in one of the telephone boxes on the main square before being re-homed in the Alyth Museum.

Now, five years later, a selection of these stories have been repurposed into a story trail. The 2021-2026 Alyth Community Action Plan suggested that the Alyth should have its own heritage trails. This trail is the newest and celebrates both our heritage and the community spirit which Alyth is well known for.

Below is the map of the trail which you can follow using the Komoot App. Please note, the waypoints appear once you start the tour on the App. Printed itineraries are also available at the Alyth Museum for those not using the Komoot App.
You can listen to the stories along the trail on our soundcloud page.
The trail should take around an hour to complete, this may vary dependent upon your own walking speed. Feel free to take this audio tour at your own pace!
