There are many songs and much music from the Cateran Ecomuseum area. Over the first five years of the Ecomuseum, this collection of songs has been curated and sung for us by Aileen Ogilvie.
Inspired by the traditional music, song and Gaelic language of her Highland upbringing singer/songwriter Aileen discovered her own singing voice by entering the local Inverness Mod. From an early age she competed in various Mods and music festivals before studying for a BA in Popular Music Performance at Perth College UHI.

Alongside performing and collaborating with other musicians Aileen is also an accomplished tutor and regularly delivers vocal workshops for groups, communities and schools throughout Scotland. This includes leading choirs and vocal groups, storytelling and music making for early years, song writing, group music making and workshops in Scottish folk & Gaelic song.
Currently living in Sutherland, she recorded these for us whilst living and working in Perthshire:
