A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed ideas and suggestions to how we might develop The School of the Moon with input by nearly 100 folk of all ages, from communities across the Ecomuseum area so far!

Victoria McMillan, (PhD Candidate in Cultural and Museums Studies at Nottingham Trent University) who has been leading this work for us, put together over six events in the last month and set up an online virtual ideas drop box to collect suggestions and we’re just blown away by the enthusiasm of folk to share their imagination, passion, knowledge and skills with others.
Using creative playful thinking and dot voting, dozens of ideas were generated, discussed and explored at each of the sessions. ‘How might we…’ was the starting point. How might we bring different parts of the community together? How might we build connections between each other, the land on which we live, and the nature which nurtures us, based on:
- reciprocity,
- empathy and
- respect

How might we bring to the fore the hidden, the forgotten and the over-looked? How might we generate curiosity and excitement to explore and get to know the places we live better? How might we build in the 5 Ways to Well-Being as a foundation for all we do?
We’re just buzzing with excitement to get co-developing some of those into real events and activities with you as soon as we can – from pollinator corridors to Wise Women celebrations, varied skills sharing to participatory plays, storytelling and poetry and so much more.
