Event Details

A giant portrait of the great Scots poet Hamish Henderson – who was born in Blairgowrie 100 years ago this year – is being created with 4,000 metres of Jute over a hectare of the hillside at the Spittal of Glenshee where he lived as a small boy.

Designed by Alyth-based artist Martin McGuinness, it has been inspired by portraits of Hamish by the great Scottish realist painter Alexander (Sandy) Moffat.

Viewable on the side of Bad an Loin in daylight hours from the Spittal of Glenshee road loop off the SnowRoads Scenic Route.
